President Akufo-Addo is under intense pressure from party supporters to name the remaining MMDCES for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country.
Almost 4 months after being sown into office, Akufo-Addo is yet to name his representatives at the assembly level thus hampering development at the various Districts and it is believe that he is unable to do this because of the bottled up tension that has come up during the selection process.
Only four Metropolitan Assemblies namely Accra, Kumasi, Sekondi and Tamale have had their Mayors appointed leaving the rest such as Tema, Ho, Sunyani, Bolga, Wa, Cape Coast amongst others, party loyalist across the country including Delta and Invincible forces who have terrorized Ghanaians since the NPP took over have readied themselves with arms to register their displeasure once the President announces the list.
Three weeks ago government communicators at the seat of the Presidency took to social media and announced a date for the release of the names that was to be carried live on National Television but the event was called off at the last minute.
Just last week, traditional authorities from Tema sent a strongly worded petition to the President advising him not to make the mistake of appointing a none Ga as the Mayor of the Port City, this petition was as a result of rumors in town that some Akyem Business man have been chosen to be the Mayor.
Some Local Government experts have expressed their disappointment about this vacuum that has been created due to the Presidents indecision and manipulations by NPP foot soldiers.
