Gabby Otchere-Darko, a cousin of President Akuffo Addo and a known powerful person in the government has justified the turning of Ghana's flag upside down, a move which has attracted several criticisms from Ghanaians both home and abroad.
In a Twitter post that obviously seeks to provide some form of rationalisation as to why the Ghanaian flag was turned upside down, Gabby posited that, "the best way to raise your national flag is to stop your economy from turning upside down."
Gabby's comment clearly indicates that there are challenges with the Economy and that the turning of the flag was a deliberate move to show that Ghana's economy is upside down.
In a related development, some Ghanaians who are angrily reacting to the turning of the national flag upside down have commenced a campaign to rather turn the picture upside down so as to have the flag rather intact while President Akuffo Addo's image will rather be upside down.
Gabby, who is said to be the defacto Chief of Staff is reported to have unfettered influence and power at the Presidency, something that is becoming a worry for many people at the seat of government.
He does not see anything wrong with turning our flag the wrong way.
