Tension within the barracks as Soldiers salaries delay

June 15, 2017

There is growing tension in the military barracks across the country as government has failed to pay the soldiers for the month of June.

The military normally receive their salary between 12th to 14th of the month but as the time of filling this story no single officer has yet been paid and there is muttered anger in the barracks.

www.thenewstateman.com understand that the ministry of finance failed to issue the warrant for June and no explanation have been given for the inability of government to pay the men and women who are to protect the sovereignty of the country.

A snr officer who spoke with us on strict condition of anonymity is cautioning the government to wake up from their slumber regarding how they have been treating the military, he mentioned the recent murder of Captain Mahama and other issues that has gone on with the service which is killing the morale of the military.

Our investigation revealed that government is struggling to pay salaries and they are contemplating selling more bonds to be able to pay salaries.

Already party boys who have been packed at the Flagstaff have not been paid over the past six months and some of them are beginning to speak out about the greed being perpetuated at the Flagstaff.
