As Ghanaians keep waiting for the national roll out of the much publicized National Identification Card also known as the Ghana card, the coffers of the National Identification Authority is being raped by its Executive Secretary Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah.
Following the launch of the Ghana Card by President Akuffo-Addo in September 2017, the NIA recruited 60 foot soldiers of the NPP under the guise of technicians to provide technical support during the mass registration.
In December 2017, the 60 recruits were trained and engaged by the NIA on a monthly salary of Ghc 1,600 totaling Ghc 96,000 a month. These recruits have been on a monthly salary since December 2017 and are expected to be paid for the month of February for no work done.
What is intriguing about this clear case of create, loot and share is the fact that since the engagement of these foot soldiers of the NPP in December, 2017, they are yet to do any meaningful productive job to justify the Ghc1,600 they are earning on monthly basis.
What makes this unfortunate rape of the national purse more bizarre is the fact that the National Identification is yet to sign the official execution contract for the roll out of the Ghana Card with its Partners Margins Group due to unavailability of funds.
Exclusive to this website is the complete list of the 60 foot soldiers of the NPP engaged by the NIA which is duly attached to this story.
This is one of many financial maleficence at the NIA which is yet to issue just a single card to any Ghanaian since the launch that was accompanied by so much jamboree and media blitz.
