Your authoritative news website has uncovered a litany of chop chop at Ghana Maritime authority under the supervision of its over aged Director General, Mr. Kwame Owusu.
Mr Kwame Owusu who is 71 years old and is above the required age to head a public institution have been caught in a messy act of conflict of interest, overpricing of goods and services, possession of two passports bearing same name but different dates of birth etc.
Our undercover reporter intercepted some internal memos, invoices and copies of documents which heavily indicts Mr. Owusu.
In this first publication, we will concentrate on how he used his personal Hotel as the sole service provider of catering services to the Ghana Maritime authority.
On November 8th, 2017, a memo (Attached) from the Director, Admin was sent to Director General for the approval to pay an amount of Ten thousand six hundred and fifty-two Ghana Cedis, five pesewas (GHC 10,652.05) Luxe Suites Hotel being the cost of food provided for Eight participants at a meeting.
We have been asking around to find out exactly what kind of food could be that expensive for 8 people summing up to Ghc 10,652.05 at a single sitting.
In another memo dated 28th December, 2017, the Director General was being asked to approve for payment, an amount of Ghc 135, 125.00 being cost of food, drinks and music from his (Kwame Owusu) Hotel, LUXE SUITES HOTEL
Our checks from the website of the Ghana Maritime Authority indicates that Mr. Kwame Owusu is the Group Chairman of LUXE SUITES HOTEL.
